The UN’s presence at the Expo Milano 2015 includes all of the Rome based agencies dedicated to food and nutrition: FAO, WFP and IFAD. The Expo’s theme fits perfectly with the “Zero Hunger Challenge” launched by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in 2012 during the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20). The Expo has underscored that the event seeks to address his call to action with its tagline: “The Zero Hunger Challenge - United for a sustainable world”.
This year, the UN is joining the Expo in an unusual and creative way. Instead of having a pavilion, the UN will have a horizontal presence by the installation of 18 giant blue spoons guiding the visitors through a thematic itinerary.
Download the UN itinerary map and explore the UN's presence at the EXPO (English and Italian).
Make the map experience more interactive by playing "get to ZERO": use the QR Codes available on the UN Space along the Zero Hunger Challenge Itinerary, or play it online.
The FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Department will be collaborating in several events during the six months calendar of Expo Milano 2015. Visit the official webpage to keep up-to-date.
